Overview

Amid the chaos unfolding across the globe, local winemakers are calling 2020's wine harvest an incredible one. While you could wait until the warmer months to wrap your tonsils around the exception vintage, Wellington's Wine Sentience is throwing a party to celebrate newly resting wines.

Playing on the French term 'nouvelle', meaning 'new', this one-off event on Saturday, August 1 will be overflowing with fresh and barely stable raw wines. In 2019, Wine Sentience brought together wines from 11 organic producers across New Zealand. This year's Nouvelle celebration will feature some wines that have been hand bottled in quantities less than a case.

Wines on the glass list at The Puffin will be poured from Alpine Wine Co., Aurum, Black Estate, Carrick, Churton, Deep Down, Halcyon Days, Kelly Washington, Kindeli, Kunoh Wines by Yuki Nakano, Millton, Seresin and Unkel Additional.

Following the launch party, a select number of the wines will be featured at venues around Wellington to be enjoyed at a more leisurely pace.
