Overview

Sometimes it's the classics that teach us the best lessons in life. Like, 'some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don't they?' and 'I know I've got a heart, 'cause it's breaking.' Sure, these quotes sound like they might come from a motivational yet deeply hidden Tumblr wall, but in actual fact they're both from The Wizard of Oz — the real classic movie that taught us both to be kind to strangers and fall without hurting ourselves.

For the 80th anniversary of this wonderfully improper technicolour movie, The Roxy is putting on a real show for fans of all ages. Before Judy Garland gets concussion, viewers can enjoy a variety of delectable desserts created by Head Chef Nic Spicer in the Grand Lobby — a tea party even Toto would attend.

With a chance to win some incredible prizes, you'll be feeling splendid all afternoon watching, gasping, maybe singing and nibbling away at gorgeous sweet treats as Dorothy tiptoes around an unfamiliar world. Feel free to bring along friends, parents and little ones — the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Dorothy in conjunction with The Roxy invite everyone to enjoy this Saturday afternoon together.

If this is the afternoon you've been waiting a lifetime for, don't wait too long for a ticket. Saturday, 6 July is only around the corner, and tickets are selling fast. Head to The Roxy Cinema website for details.
