Overview

Celebrate Matariki under the stars with this special outdoor cinema experience.

Wear your cosiest coat, don your favourite beanie and stroll down to Te Papa on the 29 and 30 June between the hours of 7pm and 10pm to experience the magic of OneOne. Created by award-winning filmmaker Daniel Belton and Good Company Arts, this stunning AV/digital dance installation will be projected onto the grand façade of Te Papa.

Inspired by the 25 million year-old stones of the Maerewhenua River, OneOne is a spellbinding short film transcending the planes of dance, video mapping and music. The visionary installation combines innovative new media, ancient cultural knowledge and beautiful choreography to create a light-bending, geometric, visceral work.

"OneOne invokes a sense of ancient culture, an archetype being unearthed through real-world experience that is timeless and contemporary."

This is a captivating spectacle worth venturing out into the Wellington elements for. If you time it right your experience will be made all the more captivating with the presence of a live dancer performing alongside the screening.
