Alongside his performance at Auckland’s Southern Fork music festival, Justin Townes Earle and his band will perform headline shows Christchurch and Wellington. The long awaited performances will be his first since a cancelled appearance in 2011 following the Christchurch earthquakes.

The Americana songwriter has released five albums of his hybrid style, spanning folk, blues and country. His latest, called Single Mothers, is said to offer a certain kind of clarity and maturity not captured on past records - possibly due to his recent marriage and becoming sober.

Opening both shows will be Marlon Williams - described as "the impossible love child of Elvis, Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt.”
