Overview

Play by Play, coming to Thistle Hall in April, is a new concept in New Zealand gaming: an interactive, playable exhibition of internationally and locally-developed games. You've got the chance to try out games in their development stages from some of the cleverest minds in gaming here and overseas, the opportunity to talk to their creators, and learn about what goes into the game development process. Whether digital, pervasive or tabletop, there'll be something to whet your gaming appetite here.

Evenings are taken up by 'tabletop play nights,' with old favourites and fresh games straight from developers. Look out for workshops too, hosted by Mindlab. Supported by some of the biggest names in gaming and digital development in New Zealand, this is something you won't want to miss if you're a bit of a gamer (or a hella gamer, you do you.)
