Overview

Racing is New Zealand's very own indie rock supergroup. The Checks singer Ed Knowles and lead guitarist Sven Pettersen have paired up with Izaak Houston of Space Creeps on drums, and Daniel Barrett from Sherpa on bass to create the explosive act.

To celebrate the release of the long-awaited debut album Real Dancing, the band is embarking on an eight-date tour of New Zealand, including Moon1 on November 15. Punters can expect an evening of thoroughly dancable, anthemic rock 'n' roll that evokes late nights, smoky bars, and open roads.

Their lead single 'Motel Pool' reached number one on the New Zealand rock airplay charts and remained in the top ten for 32 consecutive weeks.

They will be joined by psychedelic dance duo Dual who have been gaining hype thanks to electric sets at Splore and Rhythm and Vines. Jamie Pyne and Maurice Miller manage to merge dulcet, moody vocals with sparse, glitchy soundscapes evocative of The Cure and Massive Attack. Tickets are $20 plus booking fee from Banished Music.
