Overview

The event every muso has been waiting for. Come one, come all, it's the annual Record Store Day. One of the leading independent record stores in not only Wellington, but the entire country, expect a ship load of entertainment at Slow Boat Records.

Opening at 9am, Slow Boat's festivities will officially kick off at 2pm with a performance from alt rock group Mermaidens. They'll be showcasing their work from their latest release, Perfect Body, as well as some cuts from a future project. Auckland-based folk pop group Tiny Ruins will take the stage at 3pm and you'll be able to pick up a signed copy of their 2011 debut Some Were Meant For Sea. For all of the political gurus, Wellington Central MP Grant Robertson will also be making an appearance.

With live music, raffles, and spot prizes prepped to keep you busy, spend an hour or two celebrating independent music in all of its raw glory.
