Salsa at Sunset

Learn to salsa dance on the waterfront.

Overview

There's something about Latin dancing that makes people feel alive. When the music comes on, even typical blokes get a little hot-blooded and ready to salsa like they're in a Ricky Martin video. Suddenly everyone has a relative from Cuba or Puerto Rico who qualifies them as one-sixty-fourth Latin. It seems Kiwis will give any excuse to be part of the fun.

In that spirit, beginner salsa lessons are hitting the waterfront again in Wellington to celebrate CubanFusion Dance School's 11th anniversary of the Salsa at Sunset event. This free event will take place every Thursday in February from 5.30pm until sunset. It's suitable for all ages and doesn't require you to bring a partner.

The classes will take place in Odlins Plaza, hopefully making the most of the summer heat, or heading indoors at Mac's Brewbar if it rains.
