Santa Claus

Overview

Springing from the somewhat odd but hilarious minds of Wellington-based theatre company A Slightly Isolated Dog, Santa Claus sounds like the love child of Quentin Tarantino and Vic Deals.

Santa is coming to town, and he has a bone to pick with the people of Wellington. He's here to decide what list you're on, and your choices in supermarket egg buying, flatmate politics and Metlink morality are going to determine if you're naughty or nice. There's only one thing for sure — you don't want to be on the wrong list.

ASID has been creating award-winning theatre since 2005, and two of their previous productions (Don Juan and Jekyll & Hyde) were met with rave reviews in their tours across the country. Armed with ridiculously over-the-top French accents and large amounts of audience participation, they describe themselves as 'Monty Python meets The Mighty Boosh', in a conglomeration of comedy, music and physical theatre. And they're spreading their wings soon, with performances lined up in next year's Edinburgh Festival.

Santa Claus will be playing at BATS Theatre from 4-15 December, with showing times at both 6pm and 8.45pm. Catch a reindeer and get in quick.
