Overview

There's nothing more agonising than that Sunday arvo ennui when you realise that all the best parts of your weekend were over too quickly and now you need to pack a lunch, iron your shirt and get ready for work tomorrow.

Our good friends at Southern Cross can commiserate, and are doing their bit to make Sundays a little more tolerable with their Soul Sessions series. On the first Sunday of every month, head along to the garden bar from 4pm for a couple of hours of live music to help end your always-too-short weekend on a high note.

I would suggest procuring a beer or two from the Cross's excellent selection (and perhaps a bowl of cheerios, come on, you're not too good for cheerios) and settling in for some R&B, soul, gospel and funk from the nine-piece lineup of some of Wellington's most renowned live musos. You will still have to go to work on Monday, but you'll forget that for an hour or two.
