Overview

It's all happening on Wellington's waterfront this anniversary weekend. Pasifika Festival will celebrate the best food, music and art from the Pacific on Saturday, 23 January; the Wellington Sky Show will take flight over the waterfront on Sunday, 24 January; there'll be a kid's zone in Frank Kitts Park and music in Odlins Plaza.

From Friday, 22 to Monday, 25 January, Waitangi Park will play host to the Summer Pop-Up Carnival. The free-entry amusement park will be open from 11am to 10pm each day (5pm on Monday) with a selection of rides from Mahon Amusements.

The lineup is set to include your classic ferris wheel and kid's rollercoaster to the thrilling 'hurricane' and spinning 'round up' rides. Carnival games and fairground food complete the atmosphere. The pop-up carnival will present a happy hour everyday from 11am to midday, where visitors receive a free spin on the same ride the second time around. Ride coupons will be available to purchase on the day from the ticket box.
