Overview

Behind the scenes at The Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust, more than 30,000 native, exotic and fruiting plants have been nurtured by an onsite horticulturalist and team of volunteers. Now established, the young plants are ready for sale.

This Sunday, 2 August will be your opportunity to add a few more plant babies to your collection as Crofton Downs School Hall hosts a pop-up plant sale. The Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust has partnered with Ohariu Valley nursery Feathers & Flora for the fundraiser. All funds raised will go towards the ongoing care and development of the Trust, which rescues and rehabilitates all types of native and non-native birds in need of care.

As well as picking up some new greenery, visitors to the plant sale will have the opportunity to win a bird-inspired prize pack and have their say in naming a swan. Coffee, baking and a vegetarian barbecue will also be on offer.
