Overview
It's about now on a Friday you might be having that weekly "what are we drinking tonight?" conversation with your mates, so just in time, we're giving you another RTD to add to the mix from beloved local spirits distiller Scapegrace.
Hot off the heels of their new limited edition vodka range, Scapegrace announced this week another addition to their lineup: their first-ever canned gin ready-to-drink product.
Of course, a canned, low-sugar spirit is not a new thing. In fact, it might be one of the country's most saturated markets — the chokehold Pals has on this country attests to that.
But this one is still bound to be a success: the country's number-one-selling super-premium gin, Scapegrace continually tops the list of the highest-selling NZ made spirits brands across all categories.
Unlike typical gin-based RTDs, this one uses actual distilled gin instead of gin-flavoured ethanol, making it a slightly more premium option (with a slightly more premium price point, also).
Coming in at 5 percent ABV, this gin and soda blend (sorry tonic purists) is flavoured with ruby grapefruit and hibiscus, giving us strong NZ vibes and making it sweetly tangy and tart — perfect for those, like me, who hate a super sweet bevvy.
It's available now at liquor stores around the country — just in time for several long weekends coming up — with a ten-pack of cans setting you back $27.99
Scapegrace's new 'Ruby Red Grapefruit and Hibiscus' canned RTD is available nationwide now, for $27.99 a box.
