Does hearing the question "Where should we go?" send you into a whiz on a Saturday night? Have you been the one tasked with choosing where to have after work drinks on Friday arvo? We get it, Wellington's food and drink scene can be intimidating. Thankfully the good people over at Food and Spice Odyssey Tours are here to guide you, literally, on where to find the best cocktails in our quirky capital. Besides being the best way to spend two and a half hours, who doesn't want to be that person who knows where Wellington's best watering holes are, anyway?
In the guided walking tour, you will be led through Wellington's favourite entertainment spots. You will hear about the history of the bars and meet the master mixologists at each location through this fun, informal yet informative drinking tour. Upon meeting the magnificent talent that is responsible for creating some of the city's greatest cocktail concoctions, you'll see magic mixed right in front of your eyes (and taste it, too). What's more, you'll learn about some of our most beloved haunts, all with a tipple in hand.
Running from Monday to Saturday every week, there's no excuse not to tag along on. The tour starts at the beginning of Courtenay Place at 5pm and goes until 7.30pm (bring some comfy shoes). For the $155 ticket price, you'll get at least four craft cocktails, some nibbles and a keg of knowledge about Wellington's bar scene. What's best, the night will still be young at the conclusion of the tour so you will have plenty of time to swap the walking shoes for the dancing ones.
With groups ranging from two to eight people, this is the perfect activity for a group of mates or even that special someone. It's strongly recommended to book in advance, get your tickets here.
