From the team that brought us the jam-packed, creative and chaotic LitCrawl, Verb Festival is the daring new development to take over the streets of Wellington. Held in early November, it is an annual writers festival that celebrates all things books, writers, writing, talking, reading, conversation and literary quirk.

Bringing together the top Aotearoa talent with the country's emerging authors and international gems, the four-day festival will still feature the famous literary event where fiction-fiends dash about the city streets trying to make it to as many talks in as little time as possible.

All-female collective Fresh and Fruity has been announced as the guest curators of Verb for 2019. A full schedule can't be expected until September, however Verb is committed to keeping the words moving all year round.

Later this month we will be graced by the voice behind The Allusionist, the acclaimed podcast that never shies away from asking the tricky questions. Helen Zaltzman, with her "infectious verve and a generous helping of pop culture", will discuss how we can remove gender from everyday language. Join her for a fascinating and irreverent adventure into the world we make with words and keep an eye out to see the latest that Verb is doing.

Verb Festival will take place from 6—10 November featuring LitCrawl on Saturday, 9 November.
