Lake Mapourika
Set out on the lake to take in the views and that sweet, sweet serenity.
Overview
Lake Mapourika is a kettle lake, formed when a large block of ice was left behind by the retreating Franz Josef Glacier some 14,000 years ago. It's now home to many birds, fish and seals, plus there's a kiwi sanctuary here. Hire a kayak from Glacier Lakes Kayak to really get amongst it.
