Overview

Located in the Otago region, the Shotover River is a 75-kilometre fast-flowing river with raging rapids that are perfect for whitewater rafting. While not for the fainthearted, rafting is a great way to see the rugged South Island landscape and experience the unrelenting force of nature firsthand.

Go Orange Queenstown Rafting offers a throng of rafting experiences — whether you're a rafting expert or a complete newbie, there's an option for you. The half-day rafting experience costs $239 and includes: return transfer to the river from Queenstown, a safety briefing, an adrenaline-charged white water rafting adventure and a hot shower and sauna to thaw out afterwards.

If you're up for a challenge, give heli-rafting a whirl. First, you'll take a seven-minute rollercoaster helicopter ride over the breathtaking Skippers Canyon to the launch site. Then, you'll meet your guide and begin your whitewater rafting adventure through the incredible canyon, from the peaceful waters of Deep Creek to the exhilarating rapids of the lower canyon. Go on, take a walk on the wild side.
