Overview
The urban winery wears it's peeling paint and steel tanks on show with pride, and it has all the charm you'd imagine from such a space. Even when it's closed to the public, a disco ball remains hanging from the exposed beams of a gutted ceiling.
First and foremost, Oddio is the birthplace of the delicious Delinquente Wine Co, Giovanni Armani Giorgio and Frederick Stevenson, and the workplace of their winemakers Con-Greg Grigoriou and Steven Crawford. Then, it's a cellar door, bar and event space, all housed inside a heritage-listed church.
Oddio, which is Italian for 'oh god', fits the venue perfectly, for its former function, the owners' love of Italian varieties and for the blasphemies you'll utter after tasting your way through them.
For exceptional food, the team regularly calls in a lineup of its kitchen wizard friends, all well-known for their culinary magic. More often than not, though, you can expect to find pizza from Sunny's.
Open for event weekends throughout the year that are worth pencilling in your schedule, Oddio has no set hours, but following its social media will keep you informed of its next party.
