As the saying goes, clothes maketh the man. But you have to admit, the shoes are always the clincher. In their new exhibition Object Space investigates our fetish for shoes and how they reflect who we are. Sole Desire brings together a collection of shoes from collectors and examines the different roles and meanings shoes have in our lives.
Shoes have a long history as social signifiers. From high-tops to high heels, Nike to Chanel, shoes fashion our identity. They reveal personality, taste, sexuality, gender and politics. What do your shoes say about you?
