Overview
Spice up your Sunday afternoon with a classic film noir, The Big Sleep. Humphrey Bogart plays tough guy detective Philip Marlowe while Lauren Bacall plays the leading lady, Vivian. Marlowe is hired by a wealthy family to investigate a missing person. Marlowe encounters murder, blackmail, robbery, gambling and romance before the complex case is over.
Inspiring hipsters and injecting Auckland with California cool, California Design 1930 - 1965: Living in a Modern Way offers an education on the development of design in the Golden State. As part of their diverse events programme accompanying the exhibition, Auckland Art Gallery are holding free film screenings and talks, as well as a series of Open Late evenings.
