Overview

Gabriel Power, founder of ROAR, does not sport dreadlocks, or any other stereotypical attributes of hippies, but is here to offer you workshops for delicious raw food. Course goers are in for a rainbow of flavours and nutritional edification, with ROAR proclaiming their passion for 'raw food with a bite'.

Raw foodism offers health benefits by not heating food above 45°C, and thereby allowing several nutrients to remain intact – great for the microbiome. If raw food seems mysterious or limited in range, fear not, for ROAR will be fervently reinterpreting the old give a (wo)man a rod adage, teaching essential raw cooking techniques including how to make pastry and vegan-friendly cream.

Those attending can look forward to a 'ravishingly raw' three-course meal and four recipes to wow the socks off family and friends. And socks will come off after you've learnt the tricks of the raw-cooking trade.

Those looking for that (extra) extra holistic bonus should take advantage of the complimentary yoga class at 6pm prior to the Mt Eden workshop on Thursday 16 October. Get limber with some sun salutations before you chow down on some cashew cheese, perhaps.

Thursday's workshop will be held at 7pm at Mt Eden Village Centre, and Sunday's workshop will be held at 5:30pm at East West Organics.
