Overview

The sudden influx of reality shows focused on cooking recently has seen many of us (or myself at least) becoming self appointed, certified foodies. Armed with terms picked up from these tv series, it's hard to go to a restaurant now without making some comment on the way the infusion of flavours 'plays on the palette' or the way a meal is 'plated' up.

A popular show among the foody lot is Michael van de Elzen's series, The Food Truck. van de Elzen is the owner and head chef of the superbly successful Molten restaurant in Mt Eden.  This Monday join Michael as he demonstrates three favourite dishes from his new book 'The Molten Cookbook' from the Melting Pot Cook School at Nosh Foodmarkets in Mt Eden.  The class includes a signed copy of the new cookbook (valued at $65) as well as additional recipes and tasters (count me in!).   Watching and learning the secrets and tips from such a successful chef will be an undoubtedly invaluable and fun experience. Not to mention a good way to back up all that food chat with some tasty I-can-do-that-too kitchen spectacles.
