Overview

After bringing the godfather of 90s dance to Ellerslie Racecourse earlier in the year, local promotors Endeavour Live are heading back to the venue with a brand new music festival. One-day event Spring City will transform the grass circuit into a lively metropolis of food and dance featuring some of the world's top indie electronic acts.

Leading the bill on Sunday, 24 November will be indie pop band Two Door Cinema Club. The Northern Ireland group is best known for its 2010 album Tourist History, a release pairing angular guitars with propulsive dance beats. Spring City will mark the band's first performance in New Zealand.

From across the Tasman comes Flight Facilities. The producer duo from Sydney creates infectious electronic pop, a mashup which has seen them sell out Auckland's Powerstation and headline Gisborne's Rhythm and Vines.

Also by way of Australia is electronic three-piece Crooked Colours — the Perth band is bringing its full live set to the debut of Spring City. Rounding off the lineup is producer/vocalist two-piece Foley.

Taking over the infield of Ellerslie Racecourse, Spring City will also feature some of Auckland's best food venders and off-stage entertainment. Earlybird tickets start from $85 with general release tickets available from Monday, 19 August, 2019.
