Auckland’s Mo’s Bar is a world away from its dive bar namesake that famously appears in The Simpsons. Touted as "the friendliest little bar in town", Mo's is that and so much more. Although its been hanging around in the CBD on the corner of Wolfe and Federal Streets for a while (nearly 20 years), it's the kind of place you want to keep secret from anyone else so there's still room for you to nab one of the four tables or pews at the bar.
The friendly staff will be more than happy to assist you with your drink choice, though you can't go past one of Mo's famous cocktails proudly listed on the wall behind the bar. They tick off all the favourites: Margarita, White Russian, Manhattan, Classic Martini and Whiskey Sour - as well as the lesser known: Bellini and Grasshopper. Be sure to save some room for the Hershey’s Kiss-infused Chocolate Martini. While Mo's is mostly known for cocktails, they also have a good selection of wine and beer, and in the colder months their mulled wine is a contender for the best in the city.
