12 Nights of Christmas at The Tuning Fork
Shake off those months of lockdown with back-to-back nights of merriment this festive season.
Overview
With Tāmaki Makaurau finally opening up for music, comedy and culture from Friday, why not celebrate with back-to-back evenings of merriment - we're talking 12 days of it.
From Friday, December 3, beloved Auckland venue The Tuning Fork is launching '12 Nights of Christmas', a festive flurry featuring comedy acts from some of the city's best comedians, long-awaited musical gigs and even quiz nights. Basically it's everything you need to fill your cultural cup after a lengthy lockdown spent staring at your living room wall.
Among the stacked line-up of funny-men-and-women are Chris Parker, Joe Daymond, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer and Brynley Stent. They'll all be taking the stage for 'Fork N Funny', a series of Christmas comedy shows sure to get you giggling. The first instalment of these shows is kicking the 12 days off on Friday, December 3, with comedy circuit stalwart Michele A'Court on MC duties, with James Roque, Ray O'Leary and Donna Brookbanks all scheduled for the night.
If you'd rather flex your musical knowledge, grab a group and head along to either edition of 'The Great Tuning Fork Music Quiz', one on Wednesday, December 8 and another on Monday, December 13. This is set to be a regular event in 2022, so great to get the practice now.
And if you prefer to enjoy the tunes from the front row, the list of musical acts is pretty after months of lockdown. Saturday, December 4 sees rising musical star Paige take the stage, followed by indie group Carnivorous Plant Society on Sunday, December 5. Phoebe Rings, Deva Mahal and Anna Coddington all feature, along with some stunning support acts.
Head along to one evening, head along to them all, it's up to you. Just don't miss out —this is sure to be a sell-out.
