A Festival Feast
Come for the matinee and stay for the feast.
Overview
Previously limited to the summer months due to its open-sky construction, a new roof has transformed Auckland's Pop-Up Globe into an all-weather venue. The theatre is now open for its first winter season with a lineup of six shows.
In celebration of the winter season, the company is hosting two banquets in the full-scale Globe Theatre replica. Organisers suggest the two sessions on 27–28 July will whisk diners back four hundred years to Shakespeare's time. The banquet menu lists dishes to reflect the period, including old English pork ribs, baked leg of ham with mustard, chicken drumsticks cooked in cider and Eton mess with strawberry and meringue. A cash bar will be open featuring ye olde English vino.
To complete the experience musicians and actors from the Pop-Up Globe Theatre Company will perform throughout the evening. Pop-Up Globe matinee tickets are not included in the banquet price.
