Overview

Auckland Art Gallery will stay open later than usual later this month as The Pacific Sisters presents Art After Hours: F'rock da Base. The one-night takeover will be packed with Māori and Pasifika music, fashion, spoken word and activism.

Members of The Pacific Sisters collective will be in full costume as they deliver spoken word and poetry in cabaret-style; there will be live Samoan tatau (tattooing) demonstrations throughout the night by Croc Tatau, Uhi Tapu and Moko Ink; DJs DLT, Manuel Bundy and Linda T will hit the decks for rotating sets, and four-piece band Whaea and the Rumble will perform live.

Entry will be open to all exhibitions, there will be guided gallery tours, interactive art installations, pop-up art talks and food and drink for purchase.
