Auckland Live Christmas in Aotea Square 2023

Christmas has arrived at Aotea Square, with Auckland Live bringing a packed schedule of live music, carols and festive films to the heart of the CBD until Thursday, December 21.

The festivities are already well underway, but the square will come alive with music on Saturday December 16, starting off with a performance with Maamaloa Brass Band, which made up of more than 50 of the best Tongan brass players in Auckland. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to show the square your own secret singing talent with Christmas Karaoke, hosted by Jackie Clarke.

On Sunday, December 17, the National Youth Theatre — a group of musically gifted kids — are ready to show the adults a thing or two about Christmas rhythm. And if learning to play the ukulele was on your 2023 resolution list, here's your chance — The Nukes are taking over the square with a ukulele workshop.

That's not all, though, with festive fun popping up every day at Aotea Square — including a ten-metre Christmas tree, giant chess, Connect Four and an imagination playground.
