A Decade of Days
Auckland through the eyes of a photojournalist.
Overview
A Decade of Days celebrates one of the country's leading photojournalists, Robin Morrison. The exhibition features a selection of black and white photographs of Auckland, from 1971 to 1985, which was found stashed away in a folder labelled 'Decade of Days’ amid the vast collection of images given to the museum before he died.
Featured in the exhibition are striking portraits of influential figures, such as Dame Whina Cooper and Frank Sargeson, and images of some of New Zealand's most important historical events including the Springbok protests and the occupation of Bastion Point.
A selection of Robin Morrison’s photographs will also be exhibited across three window boxes in the heart of Otara’s town centre.
