Overview
A massive gay rainbow will once again shine over Tāmaki Makaurau this February as Auckland Pride Festival lands for 2021. The theme for this year's edition is 'Karanga Atu, Karanga Mai' which calls the community together for activism, celebration, inclusivity, representation and more.
The festival is loaded with over 200 events, showcasing music, theatre, visual arts, drag, comedy, literature, open days and parties. On Saturday, 27 February, the Pride March will take over central Auckland from Albert Park to Aotea Square. As the March comes to an end, the celebrations continue into the night with the Pride Party.
Kicking off from 6pm, two stages will be showcasing some of Aotearoa's finest queer acts, including musicians, drag artists and DJs — headlined by Randa and HalfQueen and hosted by HugoGrrrl and Miss Geena. Aotea Square will be home to food trucks a-plenty and the Box Bar.
The party is a free, all-ages, accessible event and the final major event of Auckland Live's Summer in the Square series.
