Overview

Covering more than twelve acres of rolling terrain in east Auckland, Ayrlies is one of the country's best known gardens. The blooming magnificent site, which is nearing maturity, is characterised by sweeping lawns, large ponds, waterfalls and its very own wetlands linking the gardens to the Hauraki Gulf. It's recognised for both its design and horticultural excellence.

On Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12, the gardens will fling open its gates to the public for a peep and the first event Ayrlies Plant Fair. Specialist plant growers will have a wide range of interesting plants for sale throughout the weekend, and those seeking advice on how to keep their new plant babies alive will find assistance via onsite gardening societies. There will also be live music and refreshments available.

The $10 ticket price also includes access to the garden and wetlands. Ticket sales support the upkeep of the gardens which is administered by a charitable trust.
