Overview

Probably about as far removed from the trainwreck American reality series as you could get, Annabel Alpers aka Bachelorette is set to inject a serious dose of Summer energy into Galatos this Sunday. Alpers has put New Zealand on the tech-pop map.  If you're into music with a bit more depth behind the la las and da da das, you'll be into her work. Using modern cities, androids, relationships, life and death as her inspiration Bachelorette's first album was a pop treatise on technology's perpetual intrusion on society. Titled My Electric Family, the record takes aim at an increasingly computer-reliant population.

Her sound is Summer to a tee. She is one of those artists that you don't have to be too familiar with to zone out to the hazy doo-wop melodies.  A perfectly matched soundtrack for walking down a crowded sidewalk or to cruise along to in a convertible to some place sandy - because all of our lives are movies with backing tracks right?

Following on from a few afternoon drinks in the sun (weather report still pending), wrap up your weekend with a quintessential dose of Summer.
