Overview

Weird Together is a group of eight musicians, brought together by Nick Dwyer of George FM fame (now based in Tokyo) and Dick Johnson, another George FM presenter and Auckland-based DJ legend. The two friends have paired their loves of music and travelling, collecting a group of musicians from all over the world to create some infectious, eclectic tunes.

Electronic beats meet steel drums and jaunty percussive jangles and chimes on their recently released No Compromise EP. The five tracks are as broad-ranging as the musician's origins, and you can be sure you'll be charmed by this album, even if you aren't much of a club head. I dare you to watch the video to the eponymous track, 'No Compromise', and not groove along. Or at the very least, engage in some grin-baring toe-tapping.

Weird Together will be playing a live set, with the full band onstage, at Britomart Country Club this Waitangi Weekend. It's their only Auckland gig this season so go and have yourselves a good time. Here's a live performance of 'Drop The Brass', to give you a preview of how much fun you are in for.

Plus, support from MayaVanya, Boycrush (Live), Nick D, Azbo and People of Paris.
