Overview

How many dinner guests is too many? The seaside village of Orewa thinks 500 is about right, as it once again prepares to host most of its population on a massive 195-metre-long table. Returning Saturday, 14 March, 2020, the Beach n Bites Longest Dinner will close off part of the Hibiscus Coast Highway for an al fresco dinner to rule them all.

Diners will have the choice of 12 local restaurants to select their two-course dinner. Restaurants already signed up include: Bolliwood, Muldoons, Coast - Bites and Brews, Ship & Anchor, Canton Flavor and Kawau Bay Kitchen, among plenty of others. Plated sweet treats will be served later in the evening while a pop-up bar will sell wine and beer and non-alcoholic beverages.

And as some poor soul is tasked with cleaning up, entertainment kicks off on the main stage. The event is praised for bringing the community together for great food, great entertainment and to meet great new people. It is restricted to those 18 and above.

Tickets will be available from 6 October, 2019. The rain date is Sunday, 15 March, 2020.
