Overview

Organisers of two-night subterranean concert Catacombs have announced another new festival for electronic music lovers — but in this instance ticket holders can expect a double dose of daylight and fresh ocean breeze. On Saturday, 14 March, 2020, Friendly Potential will take over Auckland's Queens Wharf with the first edition of Beacon Festival.

The one-day celebration will spread across indoor and outdoor stages at the waterfront venue. The lineup features acts by way of the UK, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand, including dance pioneer Richie Hawtin, Russian DJ and singer Nina Kraviz, and trance producer Job Jobse. Local debuts will come from electronic music producers Carista, Skatebard, Lauren Hansom and Nice Girl.

A selection of food vendors will be on-site to keep punters charging throughout the day, including Bar Celesté, Five Boroughs, Parrotdog and Coffee Supreme.
