Overview

The Golden Dawn, Tavern of Power, has used its magical might to do good once again. They are treating us to a very special line up this Friday — Chelsea Jade will be performing tracks from her one-year-old EP, BEACONS, with support from Randa, and tunes from Yam Jam DJs.

With BEACONS, Chelsea Jade has left behind the pseudonym of Watercolours and started making music under her own name. This signals a new-found confidence that can be traced in her music. The EP is a tightly curated collection of moody, smart songs. Layers of sounds and dynamic rhythms blend with deceptively dreamy soundscapes. Chelsea Jade's music is a constant push and pull between dark and light, buoyancy and weight.

Randa has erupted upon the music scene, skillfully spitting rhymes with lyrics impressively clever and witty for her age. The recently released third EP, Rangers, is packed full of goodness. Fortress, the first single from the EP, is an especially addictive number. Randa deservedly snapped up the NZ Music Awards Critics Choice Award last year (Chelsea Jade won it in 2012) and her live performance is electric.

See two of New Zealand's brightest musicians for only $5. It's a no-brainer.
