The Bluff oyster season is quickly approaching. To celebrate the arrival of the Southland aphrodisiacs, the folks at Auckland waterfront restaurant Harbourside Ocean Bar & Grill are inviting you to scoff as many of the light and briny delights as humanly possibly.

Two all-you-can-eat events will take place on Tuesday 6 March and Wednesday 7 March. Each extended feasting session will kick off with a flute of Champagne on arrival before the oysters are presented across three rounds. First, diners will be served a selection of natural oysters with shallots, vinegars and lemon. Then will come battered Kilpatrick with smokey free-range bacon, and panko crumbed with wasabi and tartar as the finale.

For the main course you can take your pick from grilled Big Glory Bay salmon or Wakanui eye fillet — though for those who didn't get enough, extra oysters will be available by request. A selection of house petit fours and New Zealand cheeses will finish off the experience. See the full menu here.
