CHI to AKL: In Memory of DJ Rashad
Auckland footwork fans can pay their respects to the Chicago legend.
Overview
K Road hotspot Neck of the Woods are hosting a night of remembrance to the footwork* pioneer and TEKLIFE founder, DJ Rashad, who tragically passed away last year on April 26.
Fellow TEKLIFE founder DJ Spinn has given blessing for the night, with any profits, including DJ fees, been donated to DJ Rashad's family, which includes his 9 year old son Chad. The nights entertainment include performances from 10 local DJ's playing footwork influences, as well as a documentary screening at 8:30pm of a footwork documentary "I'M TRYNA TELL YA'.
*Footwork is a fast paced genre of dance music that combines the minimalism and fast beats per minute of ghetto-tech with the traditional boom of bass music.
