Overview

One can't walk into the supermarket at this time of year without hearing the impeccable voices of Sol3 Mio crooning over the sound system. But if you would prefer to hear them in slightly more picturesque surroundings than the canned goods isle, you're in luck.

The vines of Villa Maria Winery will again play host to the boys in their popular Christmas show, one that puts a grassroots spin on the oft-perceived as inaccessible opera genre. This year the Samoan trio will be joined onstage by special guests Dave Dobbyn, Hollie Smith and Stan Walker, with accompaniment from the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

Those attending will be treated to a combination of opera arias, Sol3 Mio hits and of course Christmas carols – with a few jokes courtesy of the boys' characteristic humour sure to be thrown in the mix. If past years are anything to go by this will be a very cultured – and lighthearted – way to ring in the merry season.
