Overview

Mixing live electronica with graphic visual instruments, Chronostasis is a stunning cerebral illusion, where time is elastic and the past and present cease to exist. The immersive event from multi award-winning French sound and installation artists Franck Vigroux and Antoine Schmitt is to take over the Auckland Live Digital Stage in Aotea Square this November.

Following a semi-improvised open score, Vigroux and Schmitt synchronise by eye and ear to play with perceptions of time and create an audio-visual concert that turns the field of programmed art inside and out.

Since premiering in 2018 at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Chronostasis has mesmerised audiences in Europe with its mix of electronic musical textures and tensions, and catastrophic, explosive visuals. Chronostasis performs for one night only.
