Overview
Pitt Street record store Flying Out has long been a champion of local music and community spirit. To spread goodwill this Christmas season, the team has handpicked some of New Zealand's best and brightest alternative artists for Claus for a Cause.
On Friday, 14 December, nine artists across three venues — Whammy Bar, Whammy Backroom and The Wine Cellar — will throw a Christmas party to raise funds for The Aunties.
Unlike other cringeworthy Christmas playlists, Claus for a Cause will be one that will make you want to get up and dance. It's headlined by beat makers A Label Called Success (a collaboration between Connor Nestor and Jordan Arts of High Hoops), local psychedelic surf rockers The Echo Ohs and Wellington-based indie pop wunderkids Hans Pucket.
The $20 door charge will go to local outfit The Aunties, who provide support to those who have experienced domestic violence by providing a combination of material needs and aroha.
