Overview

If you've made it out to Titirangi's The Refreshment Room you'll know they can whip up a mighty fine bowl of pasta. In fact, owners John Poutney and Hayden Phiskie have such prowess with eggs and flour that it's landed them things like a runner-up gong in Metro's search for the best Italian restaurant. Fun fact: Poutney was also once the owner of Grey Lynn's handmade pasta go-to, Delicious.

Not ones to keep their talent within the borders of West Auckland, the pair will expand beyond the 'Bistro in the Bush' this month for a pasta pop-up at K'Road's Six Nine. From May 4, the late night cocktail bar will welcome Poutney and Phiskie for 12-weeks of incredibly good maltagliati, cappelletti and gnocchi, among several other dishes under the Italian banner.

The menu will be broken up into four sections, offering items between $5-20. Guests will have their choice of: lamb ribs, fermented chips with feta and oregano, maltagliati with beef cheek ragu, gnocchi with kumara, gorgonzola, walnut and watercress, and risotto with smoked gem fish, leek and saffron.

The menu is set to change regularly over the restaurant's 12-week duration so it will warrant several visits.
