Overview
An event that allows me to enthusiastically declare 'bust out your balloons' and of course your wallets, is popping up in the streets of Morningside. Leave the chaotic chaos of consumerism at home and mosey your way down to Crave's Ethical artisans Christmas market. As this event falls on the third day of December, it is no longer taboo to mention the C word (Christmas folks), in fact it is more than acceptable to start writing lists, stocking up on tinsel and thinking about arming yourself for some mall madness.
Crave's Ethical Christmas Market however, offers us mall phobians, organized shoppers and every soul in between the opportunity to make a difference with giving this December. Rest assured that the carefully hand-picked stalls are ethically on board with everything from their principals to their crafted products they will be selling. By dabbling in a bit of conscious consumerism and by gifting others with gifts found at the market, shoppers will be helping free men, women and children from slavery, poverty and sexual exploitation - helping to provide employment, healthcare, education and support for local businesses. This year Crave's Ethical Market is focusing on quality instead of quantity this Christmas.
A bundle of decent dudes and ladies will perch proudly at stalls such as Beloved, Holding Hope Collection, The Loyal Work Shops, She Made This, World Organic, Hope Street, Garner and Fair, and handfuls more. They will be selling genuine gifts such as, t-shirts, jewellery, leather satchels and bags, creative woven baskets, beads, and clutches, linen dresses and world organic goodies. First and foremost a café, coffee will be a short cry (or crawl) away if the pressures of Christmas shopping become too much and you need to take a break. A unique Christmas market opportunity for those so inclined.
