Overview

Always open to guest chefs taking the helm, contemporary yum-cha restaurant Culprit will next month invite acclaimed chef Des Harris into the kitchen for a trolley takeover.

Once the executive chef of Clooney, Harris has made quite the impact on the New Zealand dining scene, leading multiple award-winning restaurants across the country and lending his talents to central city restaurants through menu development. He can now be found at Waimauku's The Hunting Lodge.

For one night only on March 15, Harris will bring his farm-to-table approach to Culprit. The set menu will offer six seasonal bites via the roaming yum-cha trolley before Harris picks the main course ingredients and works some magic with Jordan MacDonald and Kyle Street of Culprit. The experience will finish with a marshmallow-off where the chefs put their creations head-to-head using the spongy sweet.
