Overview
Have you ever eaten food so good you've done a little jig of joy? Then this event is for you. Dine and Dance, hosted by Snack Pack, is taking place across three Saturdays in October, with each event bringing its own flavour to the dining and dancing series. All three of these tasty evenings will be held at Satya Chai Lounge in the heart of Auckland's Karanghape Road.
The masterminds behind the event are Snack Pack founders Kamal Haggerty and Gwilym Breese, who work alongside Auckland's restaurants and bars to curate a vibe, advising on everything from menus to the music. The pair are passionate about music and hospitality, and wanted to combine their two loves in the culture-bursting space that is Karangahape Road.

First up is Ramen Bass on Saturday, October 14, where diners and dancers will take a journey through jazz singer Audrey Bell's childhood by slurping up heaving bowls of ramen, Bell's personal comfort food. Bell will be taking the mic alongside up-and-coming band Freddie's Lick, filling the air with Japanese pop, jazz and disco.
Next on the Dine and Dance schedule is Chick'n'Groove on Saturday, October 21. Punters' ears will be blessed with the sounds of funky beats, while their tastebuds will be spoiled with Singaporean chicken and rice.
Dine and Dance is ending the series with a bang, with Dirty Princess Cake Party on Saturday, October 28. This is not your average cake party (whatever that may look like) with cake connoisseur Petra Galler at the helm. Don't fill up on so much cake that you can't move though, as some of Auckland's best DJs — Grantis, TDK and Arii Jade — will be playing late into the night.
