It's the return of The Snugs. As part of Elemental AKL's three-week lineup, these heavily Instagrammable winter dining igloos are returning to Aotea Square after last year's sell-out season. Turning even Auckand's comparably mild mid-year temperatures into a picturesque winter wonderland, these domes are kitted out with everything to keep you cosily warm, fed and watered, including comfy chairs, soft cushions and twinkling fairy lights.
Each igloo comfortably seats up to six people but don't feel like you have to come with a big group — they're also perfect for date night, or to treat mum to something special. Just be aware there is a minimum spend for each booking: $80 for sessions before 4pm, $130 for sessions after 4pm.
Still, with a menu offering curated by Auckland Unlimited head chef Yokeswaran Subramanian, that shouldn't be too hard to reach. Attendees can scoff DIY tacos and stacked grazing platters alongside a few drinks, with options for all dietary requirements available on request.
Running from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, July 31, you'll want to get your spot booked quickly if previous years are anything to go by.
