Overview

The nation's reigning king of melodic indie-pop, Lawrence Arabia, will strip back to the bones of his craft this November for a series of solo shows around the North Island.

An Evening Alone with Lawrence Arabia will see Arabia (real name: James Milne) assemble on the stage at the Titirangi RSA on November 7, Ponsonby's Golden Dawn for two shows on November 14 and 15 and Devonport's The Vic on November 21. There will be no hiding behind a wall of sound or layered harmonies; just one man spewing witty observational and semi-autobiographical lyrics, probably with a guitar.

The lauded songwriter has a few impressive accolades under his belt: the APRA Silver Scroll, several NZ Music Awards and the Taite Prize. Just last year he recorded his fourth album with Mike Fabulous (The Black Seeds, Lord Echo) titled Absolute Truth. Something for those who you enjoy peppy '60s-inspired pop.
