Overview

At the end of this month the fashion curious will gather for New Zealand Fashion Weekend, a three-day bonanza of haute couture for the general public. Pushing for the front row to peep new collections, amassing goodie bags and hunting down bargains at designer sales certainly works up an appetite. New to this year's event is the dining experience appropriately titled Fashion Plate.

Billed as an event "celebrating plates and tastes from past to present," the experience will combine the finger food format of high tea with the roaming trolley carts of yum cha — all in the heart of the NZFW venue. Presented by award-winning caterers Mint Kitchen, the sustenance will be led by goods from top local suppliers across brunch, lunch, high tea and cocktail sessions.

Each session will include a complimentary drink on arrival before the menu extends to cheese scones, duck liver parfait profiteroles, black truffle macarons, charsui pork bao, overnight oats and spiced tartlets. Across the lunch and cocktail sittings an oyster trolley will roam the dining room, while the afternoon high tea will see it loaded with breads, tapenade, milks and non-alcoholic shots. Wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks will be available all day.

Tickets booked for each sitting include general admission entry to the NZ Fashion Weekend Designer Pop-Up Sale and Beauty Hub.
