Overview

The end is nigh for Auckland CBD's home of good times. Revealed via the venue's Facebook page, the closure of Fort Street Union comes as the landlord wants to charge almost twice the amount of rent currently being paid.

Located within a 100 year-old heritage site on Auckland's old waterfront (Fort Street), Fort Street Union is a modern pub sort of thing featuring the city's first and most unique rooftop garden bar, a open kitchen and heaps of exposed brick, big timber trusses and a high stud ceiling.

The final day of operation for Fort Street Union will be Friday, 28 September. To mark the occasion the bar is looking to go out with a bang. DJs will be spinning from 4pm til late with drink specials including $5 Heinekens, $5 rosé and sav for the whole night.
