Overview
Italian record producer Giorgio Moroder may well be 74, but he still has the finesse to kick out complex electro jams and sure-fire floor fillers.
The legendary pop and soundtrack producer is regularly credited with pioneering synth-disco and electronic dance music. His collaborations famously include Donna Summer’s late-1970s disco hits 'Love to Love You Baby', 'Hot Stuff' and 'Bad Girls', as well as work with David Bowie, Blondie, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Janet Jackson, and so on. His resume also boasts: an induction into the Dance Music Hall of Fame, four Grammy Awards and three Academy Awards for his composition work on films Top Gun, Flashdance and Midnight Express. His latest collaboration was with Daft Punk on their Grammy Award-winning album Random Access Memories.
After a three-decade break, Moroder is scheduled to release an album of his own material later this year. It features cameos from Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Sia and Charli XCX. Listen to title track and first single, ‘74 Is The New 24’.
